Image enhancement / editing, retouching, Digital cosmetic surgery techniques

The digital age has brought about a revolution in image editing and enhancement. Today virtually every business related image in publications, websites, presentations and other media will have been enhanced in one form or another, these techniques are now also now available for personal images at reasonable rates.

Even images of 'Super models' are 'touched up' before publication. This even applies when the image was shot in the studio with the best lighting and with the full backup support of makeup artists, hair stylists and garment fitters.

Personal image enhancement

Because you will often look at your personal images every day, whether by the bedside, on the wall, at your work place, you will want images of yourself or your loved ones to look great; we now offer image enhancement and digital cosmetic surgery at reasonable prices to enhance your personal images.

Digital editing and cosmetic surgery techniques

Editing techniques are used to: soften images, remove wrinkles, remove spots, blemishes, slimming, adding or changing makeup etc.

Image enhancement, image repair and digital cosmetic surgery all use a range of techniques, typically to improve/emphasise the visual effect of the image, correct problems/flaws, alter an image, or a combination of these.

Today the techniques that are used to produce the fantastic images you see in the glossy magazines can be used to enhance your personal images at a reasonable price.

Images are generally enhanced or altered for one or more of the following reasons:

    • Adjusting the image perspective to create an artistic or illusional effect.

Digital tanning

There are a number of cases where digitally changing the skin tones is the only practical way to get a great, healthy looking tan on photographs.



Some examples are where:
  • A person is sensitive to sun light or artificial tanning lights
  • A person has a skin allergy that prevents the use of tanning creams
  • The photograph has already been taken and digital tanning povides the option.

The benefits of airbrushing

The examples above show how with some airbrushing or digital cosmetic surgery the lines have been reduced, and a number of other areas improved.

When cosmetic surgery is done it is important to consider your requirements. If an image is to be used in a publication all of the freckles in the top example would probably have been removed, in this case they were only reduced as removing them altogether would not represent the individual photographed, which is important for personal and family images.
